Rosamund Dakin

A set of conceptual sculptures, which is plaster based combined with found
objects .The pieces are based on the harsh transition many of us have into adulthood.
We look back on childhood with fond memories of a time when they didn’t have to
worry about anything and as we get older the world becomes ugly, difficult and full of
obstacles we didn’t know about until they were presented to us. Using stuffed animals
out of their original context, a childhood symbol that's been distorted as the
adolescent brain does as it’s put under the pressures of life in modern society. The
sculptures are made from plaster and recycled stuffed animals formed around chicken
wire and wood.
